Long ago we suffered in the heat and
cold without a consistent way of relief. We’d sweat, we’d freeze, and we just
needed some relief! In today’s modern
world there are many products in our homes to help us be comfortable in less
than desirable weather. Almost all homes have some type of heating unit we rely upon. While it’s great that we no long have to
freeze in the colder months, many of us still sweat through the warm months.
I’m here to put a stop to this nonsense!
Choosing a type of air conditioning in Savannah, GA is easier and more
comfortable than we’ve come to believe.
If you’re currently without Air Conditioning,
you may be wondering how to solve this horrible injustice. The heat and humidity are not going to go
away, so it’s time to fight back. The process is a short one, but anytime you
spend money I recommend checking all the facts first. You’ll need to decide what type of unit and
budget works best for your family.
An air conditioning unit and a swamp
cooler are the main products consumers use to meet their cooling needs. Both products come in different forms, have
pros and cons, and have variable price ranges.
Each type of unit can be installed to be used with a duct system or can
be installed in a window. Units using
duct systems will insure your whole house will be cool, but can be much more
expensive. A window unit may be less
expensive but usually will only cool one room.
If located in a living room or master bedroom some may deem this enough
cooling to live. In my opinion this is a
nice way to get some relief if on a ramen noodle budget. Otherwise, I suggest saving for a bit, and
biting the bullet. You’ll thank me later!
Now that you know where you’ll
install the unit, it’s time to look at the pros and cons of each type of
unit. A swamp cooler works by putting
cool water into the air. They are not
very expensive to run or purchase. In
fact a SwampCooler cost about one third of the price of a comparable air conditioning
unit. The big con here is that we don’t
need any more humidity in our air. Talk
having wet skin; at least it would be cold and wet.
An air conditioning unit works in
the same manner as a refrigerator. Instead of keeping all the cold inside an
insulated box, the unit takes in the air, cools it, and returns it to the
room. This process also dries the air
out as it cools it. With our warm months also comes forty percent to
ninety-five percent Humidity, the fact that an
air conditioning unit dries the air out becomes an important pro in our unit
decision. Air condition units are more
costly but work much better for our area.
No one needs more humidity or more sweating. I always go back to the old saying, “You get
what you pay for.” This defiantly
applies here.
Now that you’ve looked at the types
of units and your budget, you are well on your way to having air conditioning
in Savannah, GA. Now get out there and
purchase a unit already!
